Couldn't load pickup availability
The Raven Skull. A bright-eyed corvid perched on a glowing gold skull, equal parts folklore and folk art. Each piece is an original hand-finished papercut, layered over a one-of-a-kind background and framed in modern black wood. The little shadowbox effect makes the bird and the bone feel like they're floating just off the page.
Because every background is handmade, no two are exactly alike — yours will be a true original made from the same background material.

Minis, 5x7in, and 8x10in papercuts ship in 3-5 days. Larger pieces ship in 5-10 days. You’ll get tracking by email as soon as it’s on its way.
Custom orders take 1-2 weeks dependent on approvals.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes! Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your destination and the size of your piece. International orders may be subject to customs duties, taxes, or fees charged by your country. Those are the buyer’s responsibility and aren’t included in the price at checkout.
How long will shipping take?
We're located in MD, USA. Shipping to the eastern US is usually 3-5 days, the central and western US is usually 5-8days and internationally can vary from 7-18 days typically.
Can I have it shipped directly to the gift recipient?
Yes! We’re happy to send it straight to your gift recipient with a note and no prices listed. You’ll still get all the tracking information by email.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Email hello@hullstreetstudio.com as soon as you can. We can change or cancel an order until it ships, since pieces are made to order. Once it has shipped, it can’t be canceled, but you’re welcome to return it under the policy below. Custom orders have their own terms (see “Are custom pieces returnable?” below).
Returns & Exchanges
What’s your return policy?
You can return a standard (non-custom) papercut within 14 days of delivery for a refund. Please email us at hello@hullstreetstudio.com before sending anything back, so we can give you return instructions. Pieces should be unused, undamaged, and in their original packaging. Once we receive and check your return, we’ll refund your original payment method minus original shipping. If you’re returning because you changed your mind, you cover the return postage.
Can I exchange my piece for a different size, colorway, or design?
Yes, within 14 days of delivery. Email us first, then send the piece back, and we’ll ship your replacement. If the new piece costs more or less, we’ll sort out the difference. Because every background is handmade, your replacement will be a unique piece too, so it may look a little different from the one you saw online.
What if my piece arrives damaged?
We’re so sorry if that happens! Email us photos of the damage and the packaging within 7 days of delivery, and we’ll make it right with a replacement or a refund. If we need you to send the piece back, we’ll cover the postage. It helps to keep the box and packing until we’ve sorted it out, thank you!
Are custom pieces returnable?
Custom commissions are made just for you, so they’re final sale. The exception is damage in transit, which is covered under the damage policy above.
About Your Piece
Where are the papercuts made?
All our papercuts are made here in the studio in Ellicott City, Maryland, USA. One at a time, just for you!
How are the papercuts made?
Each design is created on the computer, then cut out on a large die-cutting machine. The cut gets tiny foam bumpers that lift it away from the background, for the 3D shadowbox effect. Then matted, signed and framed.
How are the backgrounds made?
Every background is handmade in the studio, so no two are exactly alike.
How do I hang or display my piece, and how do I take care of it?
Minis come with an easel back for a shelf or desk. 5x7in and 8x10in include both an easel and a wall hanger. 11x14 and larger have wall hangers.
To keep the colors bright, hang your piece out of direct sunlight, and dust the glass with a soft dry cloth.
Do you make custom designs?
Yes! Email hello@hullstreetstudio.com with your ideas, and we’re happy to work with you to bring them to life.
